What's an email Alias & How do I set one up?

You do not want to use your email address for sales inquries, and instead want to have email going to sales@yourdomain delivered to your real account. You also don't want to go through all the trouble of setting up a sales email account, with passwords, settings, and then forwarding email. An email alias is a different way to refer to a real email account. This is different from an email forward, which uses two real email accounts, one forwarding mail to the other. When email goes to an alias, it is delivered directly to the aliased account. Plus, you can have several aliases per email account.

How to Create an eMail Alias:

  • Login to your control panel
  • Click on the domain you want to add the alias to
  • Click on Mail, under Services
  • Click on the mailbox@yourdomain you want to add the alias to
  • Click Add Mail Alias
  • Enter the alias name
  • Click OK
