What's a domain name? It's your unique name on the web. For example, ours is impressm.com! It's the name used by everyone to bring up your website, and send you email, as in yourname@yourbusiness.com.

Sometimes choosing a domain name can be tricky, so here are some tips to keep in mind:

• Pick a name as close as possible to your company name. Since many names are already taken, you may have to choose an alternate. Try a variation, like adding the town name, if appropriate.
• Even though '.com' is the most popular extension, you may use .net, .biz, .org, or even .info. You might even consider getting more than one.
  
• Your name should be easy to remember and not overly complex.
• Your name can be from 4 to 67 characters long, and can include letters, numbers and hyphens. However, it cannot start with a hyphen!
